Economy:

  • Fed cut rates again this week 25 basis points for a 75-basis point drop since September.

  • Gasoline fell below 3 dollars per gallon for the first time in 4 years, as of December 5, down 2 % YoY

  • Consumer Sentiment fell early Nov but rose 4.5 percent late November to 53.3 still rising in Dec.

  • One year inflation expectations declined to lowest level since January

  • Initial jobless claims fell in Nov and is the lowest since the fourth quarter of 2022.

 

Automotive

  • MMR rose 1.3% increase in November’s wholesale used-vehicle prices (adjusted for mix, mileage, and seasonality) compared to October

  • Non-adjusted wholesale vehicle prices fell 0.3% from October and are now flat year over but expect prices to rise moving into the new year and tax season.

  • The New Car average listing prices steady at $49,422, up 1.4% year over year and 0.6% above the start-of-November
